Chandrayaan-3 Good Luck ISRO ! "Baahubali" LVM3 rocket ready
It will take more than a month to reach the moon
Chandrayaan-3 mission is the follow-up mission of Chandrayaan-2 mission
The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has three lander/rovers and a propulsion module
Chandrayaan-3 will be launched today, but it will take more than a month to reach the moon. It may land on the lunar surface on August 23 or 24. However, this date may be earlier or later.
Chandrayaan-2 was launched on July 22, but the Vikram lander crash-landed on September 6-7. The countdown to the launch of India's third lunar mission 'Chandrayaan-3' has begun. Chandrayaan-3 will fly towards the moon today at 2.35 pm. It will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The mission, prepared at a cost of 615 crores, will land near the South Pole of the Moon after a journey of about 50 days. LVM-3 launcher is being used to send 'Chandrayaan-3'. It was earlier known as GSLV MK-III. Space agency ISRO launched Chandrayaan-2 with this rocket
Important Contribution of Women in Chandrayaan-3 A large number of women contributed to the Chandrayaan-3 mission. About 54 women engineers/scientists are working on Chandrayaan-3 mission, said a senior ISRO official. He is Associate and Deputy Project Director and Project Manager of various systems working at various centres.
Chandrayaan-3's success will increase chances of space science development in the country - Nambi Narayanan
Ahead of India's ambitious space program 'Chandrayaan-3', former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayan said that with its successful 'soft landing', India will become the fourth country to achieve this feat and it will increase the chances of development of space science in the country. He said this would also help India increase its share in the global space business. Currently, India's share of the $600 billion space industry is only 2 percent. A former ISRO scientist said that as India is now inviting private participation in technology development, the scope for more startups to enter the sector will also increase.
Only counting hours are left for the launch of Chandrayaan-3. Not only India but the whole world is watching this mission. The special thing is that the spare parts of Chandrayaan-3 for this historic mission have been manufactured by Godrej Aerospace Company based in Vikhroli, Mumbai. Chandrayaan-2's shortcomings have been overcome in this mission. Godrej Aerospace Company has manufactured 80 spare parts installed in three engines of Chandrayaan-3 in Mumbai.
Godrej Aerospace also has a significant contribution to Chandrayaan-3. The two engines for the second stage of the rocket carrying Chandrayaan-3 are manufactured by Godrej Aerospace. "Chandrayaan 3 is a very prestigious mission, Godrej has contributed hardware for two engines, which are the second stage engines," said Maneck Behramkamdin, Associate Vice President and Business Head, Godrej Aerospace. He further said that if our understanding is correct, about 80-90 percent of the mission (Chandrayaan-3) is indigenous. This is a tribute to our ISRO founders and hard working scientists.
